  1. Diagnose first. Identify the soil constraint and desired outcome.

  4. Distribute evenly. Avoid isolated bands, thick surface piles or concentrated planting-hole layers.
  5. Incorporate through the target depth. Blend through the soil or growing media where future roots will develop.
  6. Irrigate and establish. Settle the amended profile without washing fine material away.
  7. Measure performance. Track moisture, rooting, nutrient response, establishment and soil structure.
